New monthly figures reveal Aberdeen house prices are down by almost 8%.

The figures, released by the UK House Price Index Scotland, show prices in the city have fallen by 7.8% from £178,120 in May 2016 to £164,277 in May 2017.

However property prices in the city remain above the national average of £143,106.

Meanwhile in Aberdeenshire, property prices have risen by 2.5%.

In May 2016 homes in the region were £195,483 and a year later the average house price was up to £200,355.

The national average price change of a property in Scotland was a 3.5% increase.
