Property investment days

02-05-2015

Changes to pension rules will be the subject of an open day at leading estate agency Webbers.

Known as Flexible Access Drawdown or Flexi Access, the changes are to be introduced on April 6.

They say the changes potentially give give everyone over 55 unprecedented freedom and flexibility with their pension pot. Webbers has announced a series of Open Days for landlords and potential landlords who want to consider the option of investing their pension in a buy-to-let property.

The event will be held at their offices in Newquay, Bodmin and Launceston on Saturday March 21.

Lettings Manager for Newquay office Tanya Mackenzie said "People understand property and in part it's that reassurance that continues to make buy-to-let an attractive investment, when compared to the uncertainty of financial markets or the disappointment of bank saving rates.

"These changes widens the opportunities dramatically."

In addition to having our own property experts on hand to discuss a professional approach to residential lettings and property management, our participating offices will also be joined by mortgage advisor Justin Dewey from Mortgage Advice Bureau who will be on hand to provide free mortgage advice. Tanya added: "These events are always well attended and are the perfect opportunity for us to provide members of the public with reliable, expert, professional advice.

"Very often people are working on assumptions or misunderstanding with such new innovations and it is critical that they are fully informed to make such major decisions.

"Whether you are an experienced landlord or someone considering buying your first buy-to-let property, this will be an invaluable and informative event.

"People are already contacting us for advice in advance of the changes, making it very clear to us that the new pension changes are important and will be dramatic.

"The British love property. With the lack of confidence in the banks, volatility and lack of understanding of the complex stock market we can see that many will consider the purchase of property, which is real and physical, and that they understand as a natural route and an appropriate haven for their pension investments."

The open day will be held on Saturday March 21 in Webbers' Newquay, Bodmin and Launceston offices from 9.30am until 3pm. For more information, contact Tanya on 01637 870410 or email newquaylettings@webbers.co.uk
