The 16th century Butterhill Grange had the same family living in it for 300 years and is set in the picturesque Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

The three-storey mansion on the West Wales coast was occupied by the Roche family for 299 years since being built in 1607 - but now needs extensive renovation.

The nine-bedroom mansion is set in one acre of land near the village of St Ishmaels in Pembrokeshire and is a snip at £320,000.

Since the family, who originated from Ireland, sold the mansion it has had several uses including being taken over by the RAF for aircrew accommodation during the Second World War.

Afterwards it fell into disrepair before a new owner began restoration work in recent years.

Auctioneer Keri Harding-Jones, who is putting the Grade II listed home up for sale, said: "This is a truly fantastic property which has been transformed from a derelict shell over the past dozen years by the current owners to how it is today.

"The property is basically wind and water tight with a new roof and a number of the rooms have been plastered and wired.

"But make no mistake there is a considerable amount of work yet to be done to bring this wonderful house back to its former glory.

"There are a number of uses the property could be put to once renovated, depending on planning permission.

"It could be a large family home to perhaps a bed and breakfast business or even a majestic wedding venue in the heart of fabulous countryside.

"The former formal gardens are now overgrown but if they were reinstated, would create a stunning setting for this marvellous house."
