The housing market is looking increasingly intimidating for the first-time buyers - but these homes show if you shop around you can still bag a bargain.
These spacious family homes are on the market for less than £50,000 and could be perfect for buyers looking for a project.
With the average London property price now over £500,000, these homes are now less than a tenth of the price of the average home in the capital.
The Manchester Evening News lists the properties in its compilation of nine of the cheapest homes across Greater Manchester.

The best bargain was a £30,000 three-bedroom house in Wigan.
The terraced house has a spacious garden to the rear and two reception rooms. Unfurnished but with a fitted kitchen, there is more than enough room, so buyers can put their own stamp on the property.

Just down the road in Bolton, a two-bedroom terrace close to the town centre is available at auction with a guide price of just £45,000.
It boasts a reception room, kitchen diner to the ground floor and two bedrooms and a bathroom to the first floor.
For less than £1,000 more, a two-bedroom property is available in Oldham town centre for £45,950.
The property is spread out across three storeys and just half a mile from a Metrolink tram stop with services into Manchester city centre.
A two-bed home in nearby Rochdale is also on the market for £50,000 after its asking price was reduced by £15,000.
