Average house prices in Wales rose by exactly £1,000 in March, and have increased consistently for the last nine months.

The results have been released by Acadata.

The rise is the second largest increase in Wales since October 2015, with the biggest changes being in:

  • Swansea (10.5%)
  • Gwynedd (9%)
  • Cardiff (8.8%)

Meanwhile house prices in Merthyr Tydfil dropped by:  5.7%

The annual fall of house prices in Merthyr was largest of any county in Wales and England.

Blaenau Gwent still holds the lowest average house prices in both Wales and England and has even decreased further, with an average of 80,955 in March 2016.
