House prices rising fast in Hillingdon

Now may be the best time to sell your home in Uxbridge, with figures showing that Hillingdon is second in England and Wales when it comes to house price increases

House prices in Hillingdon are some of the fastest rising in England and Wales, according to new data.

Figures from the Land Registry show prices in Hillingdon have risen by 15.2% in the year to June - the second highest rise in England and Wales.

Estate agent haart is encouraging homeowners in Uxbridge to sell their homes due to strong demand in the area.

Uxbridge haart branch manager Aaron Nicholson said: “If you have a property you are thinking of selling, don’t wait for summer to be over; now’s the time, so you can have great fun in your new home for years to come.

“If you want to buy a new home and decorate before the cold weather arrives, now is a fantastic time to sell your home and move.

“With demand strong in the area and buyers on our books ready and waiting to find their dream home, we are able to secure the best prices for our sellers.”

The land registry figures also show that prices in Hounslow are up 13.9% in a year and 12.9% in Brent.

The smallest rise in London was Kensington & Chelsea, up just 0.7% compared to a year before, with prices falling 1.1% in June. But the area still has the highest average prices at £1.35m.

Ealing also saw prices fall during June, down 0.9%.

According to the Land Registry, June saw an annual price increase of 5.4% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £181,619.

This figure overtakes the previous peak of £180,983 in November 2007.
