New monthly figures reveal Aberdeen house prices are down by almost 8%.

The figures, released by the UK House Price Index Scotland, show prices in the city have fallen by 7.8% from 178,120 in May 2016 to 164,277 in May 2017.

However property prices in the city remain above the national average of 143,106.

Meanwhile in Aberdeenshire, property prices have risen by 2.5%.

In May 2016 homes in the region were 195,483 and a year later the average house price was up to 200,355.

The national average price change of a property in Scotland was a 3.5% increase.
